WAFB News Release:

"House for Haiti" June 16, 2010

From the article Featured at

The house on Country Club Drive in Baton Rouge is getting an extreme makeover, and it's all being donated by local businessmen. Lonnie Bickford of Business Without Borders says, "It's a way for business guys to connect their resources with the needs that are needed and do what they do."

This is a project of Business Without Borders, a non-profit organization founded in Baton Rouge last year by businessman Kevin Sharp. When the home is remodeled, it will be put on the market, and all the proceeds from the sale will go to charities in Haiti. It is, indeed, A House for Haiti.

Bickford says, "Things are good here in America, and if you've been abroad, you know that things are really good here. So it's a way for us to be able to give back from the skills and the giftings that we have."

Business Without Borders has raised most of its donations so far by word of mouth, but now that the House for Haiti is nearing completion, they want to get out the word--volunteers and materials welcome!

Founder Kevin Sharp says, "We're hoping that as this thing grows and more people join in, and they contribute, that this will be a way that will impact the world, connecting the business world with the missions and the people who are doing the work on the ground in these countries."
